Improving Our Accessibility

09-12-2011

As many of our customers already know, the staff at Sikora Metals has been working very hard for the past few years to make necessary upgrades to our facility including a new scale to ensure accurate weights, new equipment to help customers unload easily and safely, and switching to an automated scrap buying system to get our customers in and out of the yard quicker. Now we are turning our focus to technology to make it easier for our customers to get in contact with us with questions about pricing and material identification, and comments about the service they received at our facility.

Our new website is a key piece to this initiative. The quick quote feature on the front page enables customers to fill out a simple online form with a list of the materials they have and submit it directly to our yard. We will be able to quickly respond via telephone or email to answer any questions a customer may have regarding pricing. The customer also has the ability to upload a picture with their quote request sheet which will enable us to help identify material, and provide a more accurate quote.

In addition, Sikora Metals has joined the IScrap App. The IScrap App is currently available for IPhones and Androids, with release to Blackberry expected in the next month. Customers who download the IScrap App to their phone have instant access to our up to date pricing list. The IScrap App also enables customers to upload photos to us from their mobile phone, providing us another avenue to help with material identification. Industrial customers who use the IScrap App have the ability to request container drop-offs and pick-ups directly from their mobile device. More info on the IScrap App can be found at www.iscrapapp.com.

In a more lighthearted venture, Sikora Metals has joined Facebook. Liking Sikora Metals on Facebook will sign you up to receive updates on prices, holiday hours, and the latest happenings at our facility directly to their news feed. We plan on using Facebook in the future for promotions, contests, and giveaways. This will also be a great way for our customers to post comments, jokes, or brag about the load they just picked up. We hope this will help our staff and customers establish an online community where we can keep you updated on the latest happenings at our facility, while also having some fun.
